Last month our Money Coaches Alan Rogers, Ann Eggboro, Lisa Faulkner and Janet Stott ran a CAP Course at the Westy Community Centre in Latchford and another is planned when a list is compiled by the staff of possible participants.
This is an area where financial help is invaluable to many families and in Christ’s name we offer that support as well as friendship to those who ask for it.
CAP Money Course
In 1996, John Kirkby , the founder of CAP, started helping the poor on the estates of Bradford. He saw first hand, the power of combining a practical debt counselling solution with the belief that God can transform any situation no matter how desperate.
In 2008 he launched CAP Money, a money management course which teaches people to save and prevent debt through a revolutionary cash-based system. Now 800 churches run CAP money and over 10,000 have benefitted from the course.
At SHMC we have just completed our first CAP Money management course. The photo shows the three money coaches (Kevin on left, Ann & Lisa on right) with Clare Wilner (centre) from Liverpool’s CAP debt counselling centre.
